Skilled Nursing

We offer Medicare Skilled Nursing Care and Intermediate Care

Nursing Care

Brewster Parke provides 24 hour per day skilled nursing services for both the long-term and the short-term resident. We use the team approach, which includes nurses, the patient’s physician, social workers, therapists and others to assure that each residents needs are met.

Interdisciplinary Team Conferences (known as IDT’s) are Brewster Parke’s way of ensuring that all residents are getting the best possible care. Individualized Care Plans are prepared on a routine basis to ensure continuity and quality of care. IDT meetings include representatives from: Dietary, Social Services, Nursing, Activity, Therapy, as well as others including the resident and his family. Resident and family input is a very important part of this process and it is for this reason that their attendance at the IDT meeting is highly encouraged.

Registered and/or Licensed Practical Nurses are on duty at all times.

The Doctor

Residents may retain their relationship with their primary care physician or choose to be under the care of our Certified Medical director, Dr. Anthony Perry DO.

Personal Alarms/Sensor Alarms Sounding

The resident control system allows for normal traffic flow of staff, visitors, unmonitored residents and alarms only when a monitored resident attempts to exit. It can also provide a variety of perimeter access and exit control functions during designated hours and alarms only if an unauthorized entry or exit occurs. Also personal alarms are placed on residents who cannot get up on their own; this alerts the staff to those in need and is very effective in reducing injuries from falls.

Main Dining Room in the Nursing Center

The Dietary Department at Brewster Parke is comprised of approximately 12 dedicated employees. These 12 employees are committed to providing nutritional and wholesome meals for each resident. The dietary staff includes a Certified Dietary Manager and an ADA Dietitian who are constantly working with the residents to make sure that they are getting the type of nutritious meals their diet calls for.

The Dietary Staff prepares and serves over 375 meals a day that consist of many different diets and menu options. We offer alternative selections to assure that there is always something for each resident, i.e. one either likes liver and onions or hates it.
